Benny Golson's New York Scene
A masterpiece showcasing Golson's achievements just before joining the Jazz Messengers.
This is Benny Golson's memorable first album as a leader.
The sophisticated Golson harmony, featuring not only him as a soloist but also a stellar lineup of members, is exceptional.
Benny Golson (ts) Art Farmer (tp) Jimmy Cleveland (tb) Julius Watkins (fh) Sahib Shihab (bs) Gigi Gryce (as) Wynton Kelly (p) Paul Chambers (b) Charlie Persip (ds)
■London Records – LY 1012 1958 Japanese release
Recorded on October 14th and 17th, 1957
◎Purchased new approximately 60 years ago, stored in a shelf with a door after removing the plastic wrap, showing signs of aging (scratches, discoloration, stains, folds). There is a slight tear at the edge of the jacket. There is a punch hole in the lower right corner.
★There is black paint on the lower right corner of the back of the jacket.
◎The white line at the bottom center of the record photo is due to the light during the photography and is not actually present. I believe it is in a clean condition.
◎I have listened to the record for sale and confirmed that it plays without any problems (no skips or noise such as scratches). There is the characteristic crackling sound of vinyl records, but it is not noticeable during the performance. The sound quality is stable and has a calm sound, typical of analog records.
Thank you for viewing.
